NoFit State Circus has a strong history of nurturing young people. From teaching fun new skills, personal development and basic life learning through to support into higher education we are dedicated to helping our young people every step of the way. We already run a thriving Youth Circus with classes 7 days a week and are eager to get more of our community involved!
Founded in 1986, NoFit State was born and raised in Adamsdown, Cardiff with our Four Elms building residing in the heart of this community. Today this area is in the top 10% most deprived wards in Wales but is certainly not deprived of amazing young people! We want to open our doors to the children of Adamsdown by running free circus workshops for kids aged 7-12.
During school holidays, these sessions will be co-taught by our Head Coach as well as members of our current Youth Circus and will provide a safe haven for not only learning circus skills but for developing valuable life lessons such as communication, confidence and trust; and socialising with and learning from other young people of the same city.
For those who would like to continue learning circus but may not have the means to do so, the Aviva Community Fund will make a number of bursaries available to the children who take part, enabling the chosen young people to carry on with their circus education free of charge in the NoFit State Youth Circus.
This project will have an immediate impact on the Adamsdown community. The sooner the funds are there, the sooner we can start providing it’s children with an amazing opportunity, for absolutely no money – it’s that simple!
60% of the NoFit State core team live in Adamsdown and we want to see this area thrive. We are passionate about this community. It is our home. We want to help, be there and support a place that we live in and love.
